This is an awesome pack, and absolutely love it. It is extremely well built. I do have one thing to suggest for future editions...I am 6ft 190lbs and have a 34" waist.. so I don't feel that I'm a "small" guy but more like average to large...but the waist strap system doesn't go as tight as I'd like, and I end up with more weight on my shoulders than I should have. Also the waistband adjustment system could be designed differently to allow for quicker, more positive locking. Thanks!

I have had multiple items made by TAG and all have been quality. This is my most recent purchase and I have to say that I am completely thrilled with it. I have been wanting to find something to hold my ammo, and the two pouches on the outside do that. I purchased this with the intent of it being a range bag for me. It is going to do that and more. It is pushing 3000 inches so there are plenty of room for pistol cases, ammo, water, food, range finder, with the webbing on the side I can put my spotting scope. The interior pockets are quite large, and the one closest to your back has molle webbing inside which I have toyed with attaching some pouches for a med kit. Every purchase I made from TAG seems to impress me more and more, and this one is no different. Very well made.

I wish I'd had this bag in Iraq, and even more so in Afghanistan. I had an assault pack from a competing manufacturer a few years back which dumped my 240 ammo, which I was carrying in abundance, all over the countryside. This bag will not do that. The zippers have never once shown any signs of stress, much less jumping the track, which is saying a lot considering how much I keep in this bag. With the aluminum pack stays, this ruck does not sag or become remotely unwieldy. The molle webbing on the inside of the rear-most pocket is great for organization of my long range gear without having to dig. Furthermore, I've carried up to a Remington 700P (26" bbl, 15lbs), in the side "scabbard", and it still rides comfortably. Honestly, however, if you're going to be anywhere where you anticipate woodland movement or any other types of overhead snags, you might want to come up with an alternative carry method, as the barrel functions much like a whip antenna in the woods.
There are only two "drawbacks" to this pack, in my opinion. First, If you choose to use the included rifle rest, the pack must remain reasonably full to prevent "collapse" of your rest (i.e. the bag, not the actual rest). Secondly, and this was more a personal quirk than a real issue with the bag, is that the exterior pouch with the interior molle (the large, rear-most pouch) is very large in and of itself. I keep separate pouches for my wind meter, various optics, data book, etc on the internal molle; as a result, if I want to lay out the pack with pouches accessible (I don't use it as a rest), then anything else I'm carrying in that large pocket is also exposed and may potentially fall out, blow around, etc. Perhaps some type of mesh divider with fastex just to keep anything else in the pocket compressed? In any case, this is absolutely the best pack I've every owned or carried; TAG, thanks for the attention to detail and fantastic workmanship!!!
